The Role

We’re looking for an Attorney to join our litigation practice and take responsibility for civil litigation matters referred to us by our clients. You’ll handle matters from intake through resolution, working with clients directly and with partner guidance as needed. 

What You’ll Do

• Handle all steps in civil litigation, including drafting and arguing pleadings, motions, and discovery, and taking and defending depositions.
• Assist with workers’ compensation defense matters for electric cooperatives throughout Missouri.
• Assist in condemnation, easement, and other civil property matters
• Research and brief legal issues, and develop case strategy with the partners.
• Communicate with clients, including claims adjusters and cooperative managers, with timely, practical advice and regular status reporting.
• Some travel to courts and hearings across Missouri is required.

What We’re Looking For

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Missouri and in good standing.
• 2+ years of litigation experience.
• Strong legal writing and research skills.
• Comfort with courtroom and hearing advocacy, or a strong desire to develop it.
• Good judgment and organization, with the ability to manage your own caseload and deadlines.

Preferred Experience

• Missouri workers’ compensation practice.
• Public Service Commission practice
• Experience in civil collections.
• 5+ years of litigation experience

The Role

We're seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a fast-paced civil litigation practice. This role is ideal for someone who excels in organization, deadline management, and high-volume case handling.

Flexible work options: remote, in-person, or hybrid.

You will work on a diverse caseload including:

• Workers’ compensation defense
• Medical fee disputes
• Civil collections (high-volume filings)
• Condemnation / eminent domain matters

What You’ll Do

• Draft, format, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
• Manage case deadlines, calendars, and tickler systems across multiple matters
• Assist with Missouri e-filing (state courts and administrative courts)
• Open and maintain case files in case management software (Clio preferred)
• Request, organize, and track medical records and billing documents
• Communicate with clients, adjusters, experts, and opposing counsel
• Schedule depositions, mediations, and hearings
• Support high-volume collections docket (filings, service tracking, follow-ups)
• Assist with condemnation filings, notices, and hearing preparation
• Maintain organized document systems and naming conventions

What We’re Looking For

• Preferred 2+ years of legal assistant or paralegal experience
• Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Experience with e-filing in Missouri courts
• Familiarity with case management systems (Clio or similar)
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment

• Medical records and billing review
• Civil collections or high-volume litigation
• Real estate or condemnation-related legal work

$45,000 – $65,000+ per year (depending on experience)
