Experience
Elaine’s legal experience in the areas of general corporate law and commercial litigation allows her to act as general counsel for many corporate clients. By counseling business owners in various industries with their long-term planning needs, she is able to facilitate business succession planning for her clients.
Elaine’s experience with a larger law firm includes complex federal court environmental coverage lawsuits, mediation for corporate clients, and representing school boards in federal court litigation. While representing business owners in the waste handling business for over a decade, she practiced before the Georgia Supreme Court. Then, one of her corporate clients requested she join the business team by fulfilling the role of general legal counsel for a waste company which grew and ultimately was targeted for public acquisition. After managing the legal aspects of the $39 million acquisition, Elaine started her own law firm in 1997, specializing in business and corporate matters, acting as a general counsel for corporate clients, and integrating estate planning and business succession planning.
Elaine also sits on the board of Atlanta Lab Rescue, Inc., a non-profit Georgia corporation.
